Held

"This is what it means to be held.
How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life and you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was that when everything fell, we'd be held."
-Natalie Grant "Held"

It's been a little while since I've posted because the last few weeks have been pretty hard. Josh and I lost another baby on February 12. We are saddened by the reality of another loss but hopeful in God's plan for our future....whatever it might hold. After our first loss, we were so completely blessed by the birth of our Emily Jane, who has changed our world forever. We are so thankful for her, what a precious gift she is to us. And as we stand here again we know, we will get through this....stronger than ever. That doesn't mean it still doesn't hurt or that it isn't hard. But we will hang on tightly to the Lord and to each other...enjoying each and every day we have together.

16 months already?!

I had great intentions of updating the blog with Emmy's 15 month stats right away, but since she will be 16 months tomorrow....I guess I better get it done now! So, here is a quick update on Little Miss Emmy Jane :) and a few pics of us playing in the snow for the first time!!!

What is she up to now? Emmy talks all-the-time! We can't understand every word quite yet, but as she's talking her face gets all serious sometimes like she is telling us the best story, it's hilarious. Emmy is also such a sweetheart...she wants to give kisses all the time, even to strangers, yikes!
Favorite things: She loves her books! She'll run over to her basket or shelf, grab one, (or 12) bring them over to us then she'll turn around and back up until she's sitting in our lap. It is so stinkin' cute! She also loves shoes, not wearing them on her feet, but her hands!
Favorite food: She's definitely my child and loves dairy! Yogurt, cheese and especially her milk :)
Teeth: 12+ and getting more every week!
Emmy's 15 month stats: Weight: 26.1 lbs  88%
                                           Height: 30.5 in   46%

Another Snow Day...Woo-hoo!

After Josh had an entire week called off of school due to the weather that we've had recently, we thought for sure that Winter had shown off enough for the rest of the season. Apparently, not! Due to wind and cold, Josh had another day off of school today! So, we decided to have some fun and head Downtown. Two of our new favorite places, if you can't tell by now, are the Children's Museum and the Zoo. And since it was SO cold out, we decided to head to the Museum. We asked Josh's mom to join us and the 4 of us had such a great time!!! Emmy and I just love these extra days we get to spend with Josh!

Y-U-C-K

Sweet Emmy, yucky virus....the three of us spent almost 3 hrs in the Dr's office this afternoon and our poor girl was feeling just miserable. I met her and Josh at the Dr's office and by that time her fever was 103 degrees, with medicine! We had to wait quite awhile for several different tests to be run but thankfully, they think it is just a nasty virus and she will be feeling better soon. Here's a few pictures Josh took of us in the office. You can tell our happy girl just isn't herself. :(

What a night!

Tonight, Josh and I had the opportunity to head downtown for the Pacers game. Our dear friends, Brian & Amy, gave us their tickets for the game and our seats were awesome! Emmy spent the night w/Grammy & Gramps so Josh and I were able to head to dinner and then the game. Also tonight, the Colts had a playoff game which got crazy good at the end. So Josh and I were running back and forth from the TVs in the concourse to watch the Colts to our seats in the gym to watch the Pacers. Both teams ended up winning and we had SO much fun!! It was a wonderful night out together, and I will always treasure the time we have for just the two of us, even though I'm missing Emmy like crazy! :) Thank you for such a great night Josh, I love you babe!

Happy New Year!!!

To celebrate the holiday we went to the Children's Museum today! We were pleasantly surprised that it was open and we even got to take advantage of shorter lines and less people too! They had their HUGE slide still up so Emmy and I went down it together. It was her first "big slide" experience and she loved it! She giggled and smiled the whole way. :)

Waving at Daddy while we waited in line for the slide

Josh said the look on her face was priceless as she was coming down the slide,
I know her giggles sure were!
