God's Amazing Grace

For my birthday last weekend, Josh surprised me with a weekend away in Cincinnati, just the three of us. We had such a great time together. And we sure needed it....earlier that week we had painstakingly suffered through our third miscarriage. When we got married we never imagined this would be part of our story, but it is, and we trust God to write the rest. We also never dreamed we would be blessed with our sweet Emily Jane, who is healthy, happy and such a joy to us. After everything we've been through, we don't know how she's here, other than by God's amazing grace and her own stubbornness :) We don't know what the next chapter in our lives will bring, but we trust in the One who does and cling a little tighter to Him, and to each other.

Here are a few pics of us @ Newport Aquarium, Emmy loved looking for Nemo and all his friends :)

Here's a quick picture I took of Emmy as we were snuggling in one of her favorite blankets this morning :)

Go Bulldogs! (and Purdue!)

Emmy got this new Purdue cheerleading uniform for Christmas from Grammy & Gramps and lucky for us, our Lapel Bulldogs are also Black & Gold! She got some poms for Christmas too and loves running around the house yelling "Go Bulldogs!" Tonight we cheered on our Bulldogs to a win and Emmy was so excited to wear her "cheerleader outfit" as she calls it. :)

S-N-O-W!!!

We had our first big snow of the new year last night and we had so much fun (quickly) playing in it tonight when Josh got home. Emmy was so excited to put on her new snow pants! :) Sorry a few of the pictures are so blurry, I guess I must have been colder than I thought!

Getting our MANY layers on :)
She couldn't wait to try out her new snow shovel!
Just like her daddy, she loves the snow!
Attempting a snow angel
Emmy's sweet little face was so cold, but she did not want to come in!
I found this picture from last winter, I just can't believe how much she's grown!

Big Girl Bed

Last month we finally transitioned Emmy to her big girl bed. The poor thing was getting "smooshed" in her crib and always ended up with at least one arm and/or leg sticking out the rails. We decided to go ahead and use my old bed and just put the mattresses on the floor for now. I was a little nervous thinking of her in that big bed by herself but I'm so glad we did, she loves the extra room. She can even sleep completely sideways if she wants! However, it did take a little adjustment to the big bed (and the freedom of getting out if and when she wants), but she is doing great now. And I think she has at last count 19 stuffed friends in there with her! We even try and move a few when she's not looking but they always seem to find their way back home on her bed. :) Sleep tight Emmy Jane!

I had the comforter but we let her pick out the pillows/sheets and even a step stool :)
Here are the stuffed animals we put on her bed......
And here are the ones SHE picked! Thank goodness we decided to use the bigger bed!

2015....Here we come!!

We started off the new year by trying something new...duckpin bowling!!! Emmy had never been bowling before so it was hilarious to watch her try and throw/roll the ball. Colt, Justin & Whitney as well as Grammy & Gramps joined us. What a fun treat, thank you Grammy and Gramps!

Christmas Recap...finally!

Whew! What a whirlwind these last few weeks have been! Now we can finally take time and share some of our favorite memories of this Christmas. A not so favorite one for me was this nasty cold I came down with on Christmas day and am just now starting to feel better from. Ugh! But thankfully we had lots of wonderful moments these past 2 weeks as well and here are just a few of them!!
