Pittman Family Reunion, part 1

This past weekend we traveled down to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for the Pittman family reunion. This is my mom's side of the family, more specifically her mom's side of the family. My grandma's maiden name was Ruhama Jane Pittman, (and she is why our Emily is now the 4th generation with the middle name Jane.) It was wonderful getting to see aunts, uncles and cousins that I hadn't seen in over 10 years. Many of the family hadn't ever met Josh or Emily. I loved having the opportunity to share my little family with my much, much bigger extended family. So many of them commented on how proud my mom would be, and how very much she would love both Josh and Emmy....I think this same thought every single day. I long for them both to know what it would be like to be loved by her, she had a way of making you feel so special. I can only hope they do see her and feel her love....through me. I know she would've been so happy that we were able to attend the Reunion, which is why we are going to do a much better job of staying in touch with that side of the family. The Reunion will be held every 3 years, and we're already looking forward to the next one. :)

A real black bear we saw on the trail to Laurel Falls, YIKES!

We had SO much fun at the Falls! It was quite a hike, but worth it!

Our view from the balcony of the lodge we shared with the family, Emmy just loved the mountains

Sweeeeeet corn!

The annual Lapel Village Fair is this weekend so we took advantage of the beautiful day and headed for a wagon ride up town. Emmy loved the fair food, games, prizes, parade and especially the sweet corn!

Build-a-Bear Workshop

While celebrating Father's Day this weekend we had the opportunity to use a gift card Emmy had been given to the Build-a-Bear workshop. Neither Josh or I had ever done this before so the three of us had so much fun making our first bear. Emmy picked out which one she wanted, the outfit and loved helping to stuff it and then give it a "bath". She held on tight to her new friend all the way through the mall, and into the parking lot until we were safe in the car. She was so careful not to drop her and she hasn't left her side since. :)

Happy Father's Day

We had so much fun celebrating all our dads this year. We spent time with my dad, Josh's dad, and of course, Emmy had time with her dad too. :) We love and appreciate each of you and are blessed to have you in our lives. Happy Father's Day!
