Back to School, Work & Miss Carol's

This week marked the end to our whirlwind summer. Josh started school, I went back to work and Emmy (and now Luke!) went to Miss Carol's. It was an exhausting, emotional week, but it truly went so well, for all four of us! And Carol was so sweet to send us several pictures of Luke during his first days away from us. He looked so happy, and it was reassuring to know his big sister was right there beside him. :) Here are a few of our favorites from the week....

So thankful they get to be together this year!
Carol said he smiles all the time and the other kids just love him!
I think someone loves all the attention :)
Emmy "cooking" a meal for everyone
Even smiling in his sleep!
Emmy and Adrianna had all the "babies" on the floor together, haha. I think Luke likes his new friends!
Happy Guy!!

7 years too long....

Over the weekend we were miraculously able to pull off a reunion with my girls from Purdue. We had been trying to do this for years....actually 7 to be exact. The six of us hadn't ALL been together since my wedding, and Josh and I will celebrate our 7 year anniversary in October. So, seven years and thirteen kids later, we actually did it!! It was an absolutely wonderful day, getting to catch up, watching our kids play together....it was priceless. And we promised each other we'll never go that long without all seeing each other again!

The Doc is In!

Last week we took Emmy to the new Doc McStuffins exhibit at the Children's Museum....and she loved it!!! And we did too! Especially for me being a Child Life Specialist, this was so well done (and very cute too) Here are a few pictures of Emmy checking out the new toy hospital, we even got to "scrub in" before going in to the OR to perform surgery on a toy :)

Fun on the water

This past weekend we went to the Lake and had a ball in the beautiful weather. We spent lots of time on the water, even Luke took his first nap on the boat. Emmy has a new found love of tubing and fishing as you'll see from the pictures! Colt caught a fish that was 18.5 inches long, way to go Colt! And Emmy is an absolute daredevil on the tube, yikes! But hearing her giggle with joy at every wave was hysterical!!

Milwaukee!

Last week Josh surprised us with a little trip to Milwaukee for a Cubs game!!!! Despite it being 95+ degrees, we had a wonderful time and will definitely remember the kids first Cubs game :) After the game, we stayed a few extra days to check out Milwaukee. We found a great children's museum, which Emmy loved and even went to a cute china shop/restaurant where Emmy had her first tea party. It was so much fun! And her sweet brother slept through the whole thing! On our last day, we drove on up to Madison to meet my cousin Bobbie for lunch. It was such a special time getting to share my family with her and to finally catch up after so many years. We love you Bobbie Jo! Thank you Josh for planning such a wonderful first little trip for our family of four, I will treasure it always!

1 month ago today......

We welcomed our precious baby boy into this world. And what a month this has been! Lucas Ray Strange was born on June 14, 2016 at 7:58 am. He was 10 lbs 3.6 oz and 22.5 inches long! And since the moment Emmy first saw him, she has been in love with her little brother. :) She has been such a big helper, gives him sweet kisses every chance she can and truly loves being a big sister. Josh and I are so proud of our little family and cannot wait to watch the two of them grow up together. Emmy and Luke, we love you both so very much are so excited and so proud to be your parents! Our adventure as a family of four is just beginning.....
