Now that Luke is on the mend we were able to meet Melvin, Lacy and the boys for our annual trip to Zoo Boo. It had been raining all morning so Emmy (or maybe it was me!) decided she should wear last year's costume so she wouldn't have to worry about it getting wet/dirty. So she was Princess Sofia and Luke was a Bulldog, of course that made Daddy proud :) Grayson was a Star Wars character and Oliver was Captain Hook! So stinkin' cute! Thank you Plowmans for another fun family outing!!
A little over 3yrs ago we were quarantined to the house because Emmy had picked up Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. Well.....fast forward to this week and now poor Luke has it! He thankfully has a very mild case so far, and hopefully it will stay that way! Here are a few pics of him....(and her from 2014!) It's a little hard to tell in the pictures but he has spots around his mouth, lips, under his nose, a few on his ears, his fingers, hands, arms, a few on his legs and then a lot around his diaper area, poor little guy! But check out those cheesy grins, on both of them, despite the pain!!!! :)
Emmy's teacher recently sent out a few class pictures from these first 2 months of school (I can't believe it's been 2 months already!) The pics are super cute, and I absolutely love getting an inside look on what she's experiencing at school! Because apparently they had a special guest bring animals in one day, which she never told us about! Haha We also especially liked the ones where the class was learning all about apples and was doing a taste test between apple butter vs. apple jelly....Emmy's face is hilarious! Needless to say, she was not a fan of the apple butter!
For our Anniversary this year we were able to celebrate by going to one of our bucket list concerts together, Garth Brooks! It was extra special for me because he and Trisha Yearwood were a part of the Child Life Zone Backyard Grand Opening last week as well. They truly are a class act, and really care about the kids...just like we do. And Josh and I had an unbelievable surprise when we got to the concert, Uncle Jim and Aunt Laura just happened to have the two seats directly in front of us!!! I mean, what are the chances?!?! We had so much fun with them....and each other. It was the best concert Josh and I had ever been too, and we'll remember it always!! Happy Anniversary My Love.....
Over the weekend, our sweet Emily Jane turned 5 years old...and leading up to this day she would tell us what a big birthday it was because she would now be "a whole hand" :) We had such a fun weekend together as a family. We went to dance and soccer the morning of her birthday and then the pumpkin patch in the afternoon. And then Papa & Grandma came in town that night to spend some extra time before her big party on Sunday. And Grammy & Gramps surprised her with a brand new bike!! Happy Birthday Precious Girl...Daddy and I are so proud of you! We Love You Emmy!! ❤
This afternoon we had a visit from my dear friend Lisa, and her three, beautiful girls. Another year had flown by since we'd seen each other so it was so nice to catch up. And Emmy had a ball with all those girls to play with! You can tell in the picture below that Luke liked having all the girls here too! He didn't mind having his picture taken at all! ;)
This past week we had Emmy's 5 yr check-up (still in denial she's turning 5 in less than 2 weeks!!!) and Luke's 15 month check-up. It was a little hectic having both appts at the same time but I was so glad we could do it all in one day! They also each had 3 immunizations, but were such troopers! Here are each of their stats:

Height: 44.5 inches 88%
Weight: 48 lbs 4.8 oz 90%
From last year's appt, Emmy gained 6 pounds and grew 2.5 inches!! Dr. Adams was so pleased with how well she is growing!!
Luke
Height: 33.5 inches. >95%
Weight: 26 lbs 13.5 oz. 93%
Head Circumference: 50 cm >95%
From his 12 month visit, Luke had gained 2.5 pounds and grew 2 inches!! Dr. Adams was also pleased with how well our big boy is growing!!
