Weekend in Columbus

This past weekend our family went to Columbus, Ohio for a little getaway. Josh and I have always had a special place in our hearts for Columbus as it always seemed to be our go-to spot when we needed to get away...which usually came after one of our losses. And now, as our family is finally complete, it felt absolutely wonderful to head back and enjoy Columbus together. :) On our way into town we stopped at an apple orchard to play and pick a few of our own apples. Then it was on to the hotel where we swam in the pool and ordered pizza from a yummy local spot. After breakfast we headed to COSI, (science museum) where the kids had fun discovering, building and exploring. We then walked over to the Spaghetti Warehouse for lunch, and even got to sit in the train car to eat, which Luke loved! Before heading home we played at the park, taking advantage of the beautiful Autumn weather. Thank you Josh for planning such a precious little trip for us to spend together, you always know just what your family needs. Thank you Emily & Luke for completing our family so perfectly, Daddy and I love you both so very much. And thank you Father, for blessing me beyond my wildest dreams. You knew, through the pain and so much sadness, the joy my heart would have ❤

Student of the month!

Emmy received Student of the Month for August in her Kindergarten class! She was nominated for her kind, helpful attitude and for being such a hard worker. She got a bunch of fun goodies, a special certificate that was hung up in the school, an official letter for her school record and even a gift card for a free kid's meal at BJ's restaurant! She was SO excited and we are SO proud of our girl! Way to go Em!!!

A Fairy Tale

For Emmy's birthday next month, Justin & Whitney got her professional pictures with a unicorn! Or a super cute pony with a unicorn horn, but she loved it!! They also had a beautiful little dress/skirt made for her. The pictures looked like they belonged in a fairy tale...and so did our girl. Thanks for such a special day Aunt Whitney & Uncle Justin!

Holiday World 2018

We just got home from our annual trip to Holiday World with the Erwin family, and we all felt this was our best year yet!! Luke was finally big enough to go on several rides and slides!!! Hearing his giggle and seeing his expressions were priceless. The kids all had so much fun together. The three girls were inseparable all weekend and Ian and Luke were best buds :) We're already looking forward to next year!!!!

Luke-2 yr check up

Here are Luke's most recent stats from his 2 yr check up this summer and a few of his favorite things right now :) Our "little" guy is getting so BIG!!!

Favorites:
-Riding around on his fire truck, his tractor and his little trike!

-Hats! He even likes to wear them backwards ;)

-Dancing! Especially when there's music!    

-Big trucks, school buses, and tractors! When Emmy rides the bus to school Luke will say, "bus comin' me, my turn!" So cute! And he loves being on the farm with Papa and getting to sit on his lap while they drive the tractors, combine and gator! 🚜

-And of course, his big Sis! It is absolutely precious to watch those two together, and has been from the very beginning :)

All Emmy wants for Christmas is....

Her Two Front Teeth!!! :)
Since Emmy lost her first tooth back in April , she has lost 3 more over the summer, including her 2 top front teeth! Just last night she pulled out her last front tooth all by herself, brave girl! She has now pulled three on her own and one with Gramps' help. I can't wait to see what her school pictures look like this year. Still such a big, beautiful smile, even without all of her teeth!

And so the adventure begins...

Last Thursday was Emmy's first day of Kindergarten! And today was Emmy's first day riding the bus! Whew! I'm not sure my heart can take much more this week! :) So far she has loved it and was/still is, so excited for school. She literally skipped into her class on the first day and right up those bus stairs this morning. Sigh...my goodness our girl is getting so big. The night before school started Josh went out and picked up Emmy a few "treasures" to make the day extra special. So when she woke up in the morning there was a vase of flowers, and a card from us that read, "And so the Adventure Begins" Sniff, sniff...way to go Daddy!

Emmy Jane, we are so proud of you as this new adventure of your does begin, and we are so excited to see where it takes you. We love you sweet girl!
